Universally the prevailing ideas railway station are a clean and modular parasol/ or a datum over a concourse and other facilities. The exteriors are bold and iconic. The most important trending in transit facility design especially for Rail Station is adopting a strategy to make it a civic destination. These days it includes shops, experience zones, restaurants and even guest accommodations just to impart a sense of civic entertainment destination.

Cox’s Bazar Railway Station integrates all these characteristics in a sophisticated, controlled and aesthetic manner. The exterior shell of the building and a clean and modular parasol over the concourse shields from undesirable natural forces while ensuring visual connection with the outdoor serenity. The structural system will be like a skeleton and will be enjoyed from within the station. The station will be accessed from the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar highway along which it is located. There will be designated drop-offs (i.e. service, regular, priority/ VIP) and parking areas, (i.e. two-wheelers, three-wheelers, fourwheelers etc.) Security measures will be put in along with facilities for differently abled users. The iconic building is subjected to high foot traffic every day, therefore all entry, exits and services within the station are accessible on foot.
